ANNUAL MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND LAMP SALE and ART EXHIBITION!!!!!

It's time for our annual Memorial Day LAMP SALE! The pots you see pictured above are custom sample prototypes done in collaboration with a local designer who sources living art and craft for her clients. It is a privelege to be chosen in this way as it reinforces our firm belief that pots for the Home, by enhancing quality of life, achieve Art's most primal purpose. In 1976 we began making lamps for Bloomingdale's as they hosted an American Craft Celebration in honor of the nation’s 200th Anniversary. 40 years later we have become world renown for our artistic and elegant one of a kind designs and are a steady feature in the Shaker Workshops catalog. We have customers lighting their homes with our lamps from the Caribbean, throughout Europe and all across the United States. When you buy one of our lamps you will brighten that dark corner of the room, illuminate an heirloom treasure, or, gently read that favorite book. Celebrate this Memorial Day Weekend with this year’s selection of high quality lamps. In our continued commitment to function, quality, and price some lamps will be discounted as much as 75%. Arrive early for the best selection of lamps for you to add to your collection, or, to give as a gift to a loved one!

ENCAUSTIC PAINTINGS BY GAY SCHEMPP

"Song of the Molten Sea" 24"X18"

What: ART LOVERS! Announcing our Spring Gala Exhibition in our Covered Bridge Gallery in the Cornwall Bridge Pottery Store in West Cornwall: the encaustic works of Gay Schempp, “Migration Series and Beyond.” Opening, May 21st, artist’s reception 3:00 P.M., Saturday, May 28th. The show runs through July 31st. This year we are privileged to bring you the works of Gay Schempp, local artist and teacher. Gay started her artistic career as a studio potter and after twenty years moved on to the mediums of watercolor, oil painting and collage. This show encompasses her exploration of mythology, symbolism and ancient civilizations expressed through encaustic art; pigmented wax fused onto a birch background. Gay works with a torch and has commented,"I think the link between having worked as a potter and sculpting a surface with wax unites the processes by fire." Join us at the opening and walk with her in our 1500 square foot gallery as you view her series of works: Migration, Koine, Shrine, Ancient Vessels and Encaustic Collages; works that transport you with their visual style to another time, place and meaning. Gay and Todd invite you to a weekend filled with earth, light and art. Heirloom viewing and collecting at its best. Enjoy!
