When Yankee Magazine chose this pot to be featured in their September 2004 issue, we knew it would be a challenge to produce enough pots of similar quality to offer to those that appreciate its beautiful folk pottery nature. Afterall, this pot is a 15 pound planter with wonderful rope-like lug handles, glazed below with the countrry's most famous early American glaze — Albany Slip. The upper part of the pot is glazed with a compound made from local wood ash and clay applied over the Albany Slip "swag" decoration around the middle. The pot does have a drainage hole, so it is as functional as it is beautiful. As you scroll down the page you will see there are 18 other pots.
